Christian Activities for our children and youth
Christianity Club, which runs at Low Furness Primary School, is a lively, active praise After School Club with around 15 children. The club is run from 3.15pm to 4.30pm each Tuesday and is open to children in years 1 – 6. We have previously used material called BAM (Bible and Me), but this term we are studying Noah in some depth, using interactive bible stories, action songs, games and craft work. Please contact Sue Legate on 869906 or the school for more information.
Holiday Club is held around the middle of August and runs each morning for a week. It is staffed by a group of hardworking and committed Christians from our Benefice. During the week the children work in teams, are entertained by Gary and Captain Ketchup (both puppets) through Mark Callaghan (Jester for Jesus) and his wife, Sarah Callaghan. The morning breaks up into games, craft, story, song and listening sessions and is open to children in years 1 – 6 from any school. Contact Sue Legate on 869906 for further information.
Benefice Sunday School, is held in two different locations.
On the first Sunday each month, it is held at Rampside Village Hall alongside a family orientated service at 11am.
On the second and third Sundays of each month, it is held in Urswick Parish Church at 11am. The second Sunday of the month is our Family Service day, and on the third Sunday of the month, we have a Holy Communion. On both of those occasions, story and craft relevant to the service, take place at the back of Church. Contact Val Armstrong on 581383 for further information
Youth Group is held once a month, on the last Monday of each month, including bank holidays and summer holidays, for ages 11 and over, and is held in the Parish Room at Urswick. We start at 7pm and finish at 8.30pm. During the evening we have a Bible slot, sometimes some riotous games, and try to fit in some music and a snack.
Beyond this, Café Church based at the Parish Church in Ulverston is available for teenagers, starting at 7pm on Sunday evenings. A new Youth Minister has just been appointed in this area, and we are looking forward to welcoming her along to some of our meetings. Contact Val Armstrong on 581383 for further information.
