God always keeps his promises

At St Mary and St  Michael’s we believe that the well-being of every individual matters. As such, we would like to serve anyone in need, and offer support for whoever wants it. We have a small team of people dedicated to listening and helping anyone who could do with an open ear or a helping hand.

Please contact Margaret Tate  by phone 01229 833150

Or email urswickchurch@hotmail.co.uk

If you or anyone you know is admitted to hospital we want to make sure that you not only get what you need from the hospital chaplains, but also receive visits and support from us.

In days gone by, before the Data Protection Act and other advances in civil liberties, we would have been told when someone from within our parish whether church goers or not was admitted. This meant that we could visit them and offer support, prayer, and communion during their stay and after discharge. Unfortunately, this is not the case now so if you know someone from our Parish who has been admitted, or if are going into hospital yourself, please contact Rev Alex Armstrong on  581383 and let us know.

Too often we get to hear about people having been hospitalised only after they have come back home. Please help us to be effective in our ministry to the body of Christ by keeping us informed. We would rather hear about someone having been admitted several times rather than miss one person.

Thank God, that the Lord knows every part of your life. Lean on him in your time of need, he is always there.

If you have a particular prayer request please contact the Pastoral team, or if you wish there is a prayer book in front of the altar in church where you can leave your request.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’

Numbers 6:24-26 New King James Version (NKJV)

A candle stands before me, it burns restlessly, sometimes with a small, sometimes with a larger flame.

Lord, I too am often restless. Let me find rest in you. It gives me light and warmth. Lord, let me too be a light for the world.

It consumes itself in it’s service. Lord may I also be of service to people. With this candle I can ignite other candles. Lord, may I also contribute in this way that others may begin to shine.
