Barrow Foodbank have won their catergory" Project/ Group of  the Year" in the Love Barrow Awards.

Dot Jackson, Treasurer said “It was a great honour to be nominated, but to actually win  was fantastic, and it is all down to team work, and that is what we are, a great team. Whether we are in Barrow, Ulverston or Millom, we are all in the same team.

Many congratulations to you all, for your hard work and achievement.

From all your friends at Urswick Church

At Urswick Church we have a collection point for people to bring donations for the Foodbank. The offerings are taken regularly to Barrow Foodbank where it is distributed to the many individuals and families in great need in the Ulverston and Barrow area.

Detailed on this page are the most needed items required, the requirements do change and an up to date shopping list can be found on the link below.  You can help by bringing your contributions to Church any day between 10am - 4pm.

We really can make a difference.

Thank you

Christmas  was as usual with  many people donating generously and the volunteers putting in extra shifts to cope and an amazing 11073.64kgs donated for December.  The food that comes into us over the Harvest Festivals and Christmas is important to us as January to September, we give out more food than we take in.  Without those reserves we would not be sustainable.

For the financial year 2013 -2014 we fed 5794 people.

At present we are looking for people to fill some core volunteer posts, so I would appreciate it if you could advertise this in your newsletter:

Please think and pray if this is how God can use you
